Inhoud: Peter Lindsay and Lia Masterson wanted a badger. They wanted it so much that their efforts landed them one. Digger, the badger, had been caught in a brutal way by a stupid man. At first he was wild, he was frightened, and he could not know that humans could also be kind. Nor did all humans understand that badgers could be trained and that Digger, when he ultimately escaped, was harmless. That led to more trouble.
But Peter and Lia are helped by the vet and by Tracy Kell who, because of her blindness, has time to sit and talk and listen. In the end there is a solution for everyone - including Digger. Even so, their brief charge of Digger teaches Peter and Lia far more than they realize - both about themselves and about the many wild creatures who share our world.
