Mating Badgers (Meles meles)
Badgers can mate all year round but there is a peak in February, immediately after the birth of the cubs. The sow is 4-6 days in heat in which she can mate with several males. The dominant male will try to avoid competition by other males during this period and is very territorial. A mating can take between 10 and 90 minutes. As you can see, this is not always gentle affair.
